Q: What is NTU?
A: NTU stands for New Teacher University. This 2.5 day event is designed to welcome teachers who are new to our district and show them a little of what we are about and what we value. It provides an opportunity for getting to know some other new teachers in the district, provides an chance for new teachers to meet and get to know their campus NTU Teacher Leader(s), and also introduces the new teacher to the practices and expectations of CSISD.
Q: Does every new employee have to attend NTU?
A: NTU is designed for teachers; however, sessions may be of interest and may apply to other positions in the district. If you are someone other than a teacher, please contact our office for more information at 764-5420. All teachers new to CSISD are expected to attend the entire 2.5 days, even if you have taught in another district before.
Q: What should I bring to NTU?
A: You’ll want to have a pen for sure. If you have a device (tablet, iPad, small laptop) that may also be helpful to you, though we will have a few iPads for use in some sessions. Some rooms may be fairly cool, so if you get cold, feel free to bring a sweater/jacket.
Q: What should I wear to NTU?
A: It is summer, so we don’t expect professional dress on Monday and Tuesday of NTU. We suggest casual to business casual dress on those days. On Wednesday of NTU, we have a beautiful luncheon out at Peach Creek Ranch, and we do suggest professional attire on that day (or changing into professional dress before arriving at lunch).

A: NTU 2018 will begin for each of you at your home campus at 8:00 am on Monday, August 6th. Tuesday and Wednesday (August 7th and 8th), our sessions will be located at Pecan Trail Intermediate located at 4319 Greens Prairie Trail, College Station TX, 77845. Your campus NTU Teacher Leader, who will meet with you at your campus on Monday, will help you with directions should you need them. We will all meet at Peach Creek Ranch for lunch on Wednesday (see map below), located near Pecan Trail Intermediate.
